Neurology, Psychiatry & Brain Research publishes original papers and reviews in neurology, biologically oriented psychiatry and psychotherapy, neuropsychoimmunology, neuropsychiatry and the neurosciences. Interdisciplinary and translational research is particularly appreciated.Neurology, Psychiatry & Brain Research is the oldest German journal in this field – it was founded in 1878 as the Centralblatt für Nervenheilkunde, Psychiatrie und gerichtliche Psychopathologie. Building on this long tradition, Elsevier has taken over publication of NPBR as of Vol. 17 (2011).NPBR offers optional open peer-reviews and communication by high-ranking scientists (CI > 20). Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscript in their native language as supplemental data to the English version. For your interest: Article "Mild encephalitis underlying psychiatric disorder - A reconsideration and hypothesis exemplified on Borna Disease." Matías-Guiu.
Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface is the preeminent journal in the area of neuromodulation, providing our readership with the state of the art clinical, translational, and basic science research in the field. For clinicians, engineers, scientists and members of the biotechnology industry alike, Neuromodulation provides timely and rigorously peer-reviewed articles on the technology, science, and clinical application of devices that interface with the nervous system to treat disease and improve function. Representing the needs of the broad neuromodulation community, the journal serves as an instrument for the exchange of high quality data, improving results, advancing science, and as a forum for debate and commentary. Neuromodulation covers an ever expanding field including, pain, headache, movement disorders, spasticity, paralysis, psychiatric disorders, epilepsy, sensory deprivation, gastric dysfunction, obesity, and incontinence. As the official journal of the International Neuromodulation Society (INS), it represents the international practice of neuromodulation, a growing, diverse multidisciplinary field responsible for the development and application of devices and techniques to benefit patients by normalizing function and reducing suffering. In-depth reviews, original articles, national and international meeting abstracts, special focus editions, and web-based educational offerings help the reader to expand their knowledge and understanding of the interface between electrical stimulation, chemical neuromodulation, the nervous system and the patient. Neurotechnology reports keep the reader informed of the rapidly changing landscape of the business of neuromodulation, while our updates on past and future news of events and activities of the INS and its membership keep the reader abreast of issues related to professional education and development in this dynamic field.
This international, multidisciplinary journal covers all aspects of neuromuscular disorders in childhood and adult life (including the muscular dystrophies, spinal muscular atrophies, hereditary neuropathies, congenital myopathies, myasthenias, myotonic syndromes, metabolic myopathies and inflammatory myopathies). The Editors welcome original articles from all areas of the field:• Clinical aspects, such as new clinical entities, case studies of interest, treatment, management and rehabilitation (including biomechanics, orthotic design and surgery).• Basic scientific studies of relevance to the clinical syndromes, including advances in the fields of molecular biology and genetics.• Studies of animal models relevant to the human diseases. The journal is aimed at a wide range of clinicians, pathologists, associated paramedical professionals and clinical and basic scientists with an interest in the study of neuromuscular disorders. In addition to original research papers, the journal also publishes reviews and mini-reviews, preliminary short communications and book reviews, and has editorial, correspondence and news sections. Reports on congresses and workshops, taking the form of a digested or very comprehensive commentary, pointing out some of the particular highlights in relation to the contributors and giving some detail of the area covered, important contributions and a list of participants, are also welcome. The journal is published monthly and aims at rapid publication of high quality papers of scientific merit as well as general interest to a wide readership. There is also a fast track for rapid publication of new material of outstanding scientific merit and importance.Neuromuscular Disorders is the official journal of the World Muscle Society an international, multidisciplinary, scientific society, dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of neuromuscular disorders.
Neuropathology is an international journal sponsored by the Japanese Society of Neuropathology and publishes peer-reviewed original papers dealing with all aspects of human and experimental neuropathology and related fields of research. The Journal aims to promote the international exchange of results and encourages authors from all countries to submit papers in the following categories: Original Articles, Case Reports, Short Communications, Occasional Reviews, Editorials and Letters to the Editor. All articles are peer-reviewed by at least two researchers expert in the field of the submitted paper.
* Neuropathology and Applied Neurobiology is an international journal, sponsored by the British Neuropathological Society, for the publication of original papers and authoritative reviews on the disease mechanisms and the clinical pathology of disorders of brain, nerve and muscle.
For key insights into today's practice of pediatric neurology, Neuropediatrics is the worldwide journal of choice. Original articles, case reports and panel discussions are the distinctive features of a journal that always keeps abreast of current developments and trends. Pediatricians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neurobiologists will find it essential reading.
The aim of Neuropeptides is the rapid publication of original research and review articles, dealing with the structure, distribution, actions and functions of peptides in the central and peripheral nervous systems. The explosion of research activity in this field has led to the identification of numerous naturally occurring endogenous peptides which act as neurotransmitters, neuromodulators, or trophic factors, to mediate nervous system functions. Increasing numbers of non-peptide ligands of neuropeptide receptors have been developed, which act as agonists or antagonists in peptidergic systems. The journal provides a unique opportunity of integrating the many disciplines involved in all neuropeptide research. The journal publishes articles on all aspects of the neuropeptide field, with particular emphasis on gene regulation of peptide expression, peptide receptor subtypes, transgenic and knockout mice with mutations in genes for neuropeptides and peptide receptors, neuroanatomy, physiology, behaviour, neurotrophic factors, preclinical drug evaluation, clinical studies, and clinical trials.Original papers predominate. Manuscripts may be of any length, but must be complete studies; preliminary communications are not accepted. Review articles and hypothesis papers are welcomed, and will be evaluated in the same way as experimental papers. Authors intending to submit a review are advised to communicate their intentions to the Editor, to avoid possible duplication.

The biological approach to mental disorders continues to yield innovative findings of clinical importance, particularly if methodologies are combined. This journal collects high-quality empirical studies from various experimental and clinical approaches in the fields of biological psychiatry, biological psychology, and neuropsychology. It features original, clinical, and basic research in the fields of neurophysiology and functional imaging, neuropharmacology and neurochemistry, neuroendocrinology and neuroimmunology, genetics, and their relationships with normal psychology and psychopathology. In addition, coverage includes studies on animal models of mental disorders and therapeutic interventions, and pharmacoelectroencephalographic studies, as well as reviews on new methodological approaches.
Neuropsychological Rehabilitation publishes human experimental and clinical research related to rehabilitation, recovery of function, and brain plasticity. The journal is aimed at clinicians who wish to inform their practice in the light of the latest scientific research; at researchers in neurorehabilitation; and finally at researchers in cognitive neuroscience and related fields interested in the mechanisms of recovery and rehabilitation. Papers on neuropsychological assessment will be considered, and special topic reviews (2500-5000 words) addressing specific key questions in rehabilitation, recovery and brain plasticity will also be welcomed. The latter will enter a fast-track refereeing process.Peer Review IntegrityAll published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees.Special IssuesIssues devoted to a single topic are regularly published in this journal; these are sent free to subscribers in that year, and are also available to purchase separately as books for non-subscribers.
