New Genetics and Society: Critical Studies of Contemporary Biosciences

ISSN: 1463-6778eISSN: 1469-9915
DOAJ Logo

New Genetics and Society aims: * To provide a focus for interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary, leading-edge social science research on the new genetics and related biosciences; * To publish theoretical and empirical contributions reflecting its multi-faceted development; * To provide an international platform for critical reflection and debate; * To be the primary resource for the many related professions, including health, medicine and the law, wishing to keep abreast of fast changing developments. To achieve these aims, New Genetics and Society will publish papers on the social aspects of the new genetics (widely defined), including genetic engineering and modification; genomics, proteomics, and systems biology; and the rapidly developing biosciences such as biomedical and reproductive therapies and technologies, xenotransplantation, and stem cell research. The focus will be on developing a better understanding of the social, legal, ethical and policy aspects, including their local and global management and organisation. DOAJ Logo

New Microbes and New Infections is an official publication of the https://www.escmid.org/European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). It serves the field as a peer-reviewed, open access journal for rapid dissemination of the latest research, with a particular focus on new genomes, new microbes, and new technology applied to the diagnosis of infectious/tropical diseases. Article categories include first descriptions of a microbe in a country, first descriptions of resistance in a country, first case reports in a country and mini-reviews, as well as full length original articles. New Microbes and New Infections offers clinicians and researchers a rapid route to publication and the opportunity to publish in a highly visible global forum. The journal draws on the same expert panel of reviewers as http://www.journals.elsevier.com/clinical-microbiology-and-infection/Clinical Microbiology and Infection (CMI). This new journal’s emphasis on concise reports on specific topics distinguishes it from Clinical Microbiology and Infection, which will continue to publish manuscripts presenting basic and applied research in the fields of microbiology, infectious diseases, virology, parasitology, immunology and epidemiology. New Phytologist

ISSN: 0028-646XeISSN: 1469-8137

Aims and Scope New Phytologistoffers rapid publication of high quality. original research in plant science. Falling within four sections - Physiology and Development. Environment. Interaction and Evolution - articles cover topics that range from intracellular processes through to global environmental change. Cross-disciplinary approaches are particularly encouraged but for guidance the journal is organized as follows and recognizes that techniques from molecular and cell biology. and functional genomics through to modelling and system-based approaches will be applied across the whole spectrum of plant science: Physiology and Development:intra/inter-cellular signalling. long-distance signalling. physiology. development. eco-devo - phenotypic plasticity. transport. biochemistry.Environment:global change and environmental stress. ecophysiology.plant-soil interactions. heavy metals.Interaction:multitrophic systems. mycorrhizas and pathogens. fungal genomics. nitrogen-fixing symbioses.Evolution:molecular evolution. population genetics. mating systems. phylogenetics. speciation. plant-enemy coevolution. All papers must focus on timely research that provides new insights into the broad principles of plant science. The topic should be original. addressing clear hypotheses or questions and of general interest to our readers. In addition to original research articles. short Letters and other submissions to the Forum section. as well as Research reviews. Rapid reports and both Modelling/Theory and Methods papers. are also encouraged.
