Journal Guide

Tijdschrift voor Gerontologie en Geriatrie bestrijkt het brede wetenschapsgebied van de gerontologie en geriatrie in al zijn facetten, met bijdragen uit de biologische, medische, psychologische en sociale wetenschappen. De geriatrie omvat de geneeskunde die specifiek gericht is op kwetsbare ouderen, en ondersteunende sociaal-geneeskundige activiteiten.

Het tijdschrift voor kindergeneeskunde is een zeer gedegen wetenschappelijk vakblad waarin alle ontwikkelingen op dit zeer uitgebreide medische deelgebied aan de orde komen. Per jaar verschijnen drie themanummers waarvan de artikelen op verzoek van de redactie geschreven worden. De andere drie nummers bevatten artikelen over diverse onderwerpen die door de auteurs voor plaatsing worden voorgelegd aan de redactie. Het tijdschrift wordt mede uitgegeven onder auspiciën van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Kindergeneeskunde.

Tijdschrift voor Ouderengeneeskunde is het orgaan van de Nederlandse vereniging voor verpleeghuisartsen en sociaal geriaters. Geregistreerde verpleeghuisartsen kunnen lid worden van de NVVA.

Het Tijdschrift voor Urologie is het enige peer-reviewed Nederlandstalige tijdschrift in het vakgebied. Het verschijnt 8x per jaar en bevat naast wetenschappelijke artikelen ook case-reports en de abstracts van de voor- en najaarsvergaderingen van de NVU.

Tissue Antigens publishes full-length original articles, brief communications, commentaries and reviews covering all aspects of genetic control of immunity. The scope includes functional, biochemical, and genetic studies on molecules of the immune system, including cell surface receptors and their ligands, and encompassing cytokines, and chemokines, adhesion and co-stimulating molecules, antigen receptors such as TcR, NKR, CD1, PAMPs, Igs, and genes and products of the major histocompatibility complex including classical and non-classical HLA molecules. Papers should describe original research in vitro, or in animal models, or be clinical studies reflecting genetics of immunity in solid organ or bone marrow transplantation, autoimmunity, infectious immunity, allergy, tumour immunity, vaccine science, pregnancy and disease susceptibility. Aims & Scope: Tissue Barriers is the first international cross-disciplinary journal that focuses on the architecture, biological roles and regulation of tissue barriers and intercellular junctions. We publish high quality peer-reviewed articles that cover a wide range of topics including structure and functions of the intestinal, airway, renal, epidermal and other types of tissue barriers, biology of  blood-brain and blood-testis barriers, molecular composition and dynamics of epithelial and endothelial junctions, leukocyte, tumor cell and pathogen interactions with epithelial and endothelial layers, non-cellular components of tissue barriers, barrier dysfunctions in diseases and drug delivery across epithelial and endothelial barriers.

Tissue Barriers publishes several categories of articles including: Original Research Papers, Short Communications, Technical Papers, Reviews, Perspectives and Commentaries, Hypothesis and Meeting Reports. Reviews and Perspectives/Commentaries will typically be invited. We also anticipate to publish special issues that are devoted to rapidly developing or controversial areas of research. Suggestions for topics are welcome.

Tissue Barriers has several goals:

• To promote cross-disciplinary awareness and collaborations between researchers working with different types of epithelial and endothelial barriers and build a broad and cohesive worldwide community of scientists interesting in this exciting field.
• To comprehend the enormous complexity of tissue barriers and map cross-talks and interactions between their different cellular and non-cellular components.
• To highlight the roles of tissue barrier dysfunctions in human diseases and accelerate a search for pharmacological enhancers of tissue barriers as potential therapeutic agents.
• To understand and optimize drug delivery across epithelial and endothelial barriers.

Tissue & Cell is devoted to original research on the organization of cells, their components and extracellular products, at all levels including the grouping and interrelations of cells, in tissues and organs. Emphasis is placed on cell biological aspects of structure, function and behaviour of cells, and primarily morphological accounts must include substantially new information of general interest.
